exam roomExam celebrations for students and staff took place across Bedford Borough yesterday with provisional figures showing that nearly 99% [98.9%] of pupils achieved at least 1 A* to E grade and 83.8% of our students achieved 3 or more A* to E grades at A-level; an increase from 2018.

The headline figures for Bedford Borough following publication of A-level results yesterday include:

  • The percentage of Bedford Borough students achieving 3 or more A levels A* to E has increased by 1.4% to 83.8%
  • The percentage of Bedford Borough students achieving AAB or better in 'facilitating' subjects* has increased by 2.7% to 17.4%.

* Subjects referred to as "facilitating subjects" are:

  • Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
  • English Literature.
  • Physics.
  • Biology.
  • Chemistry.
  • Geography.
  • History.
  • Languages (Classical and Modern)
