Mental Health Awareness Week 18 - 24 May 2020

May 19, 2020 12:30 PM

Mental Health Awareness Week ()Bedford Borough Council is encouraging people to be kind to others and to themselves as part of Mental Health Awareness Week with this year's theme of Kindness.

The coronavirus pandemic and lockdown has been very challenging and people's mental health may have been affected in various ways.

Kindness and mental health are deeply connected. Many people will be feeling lonely, isolated, stressed and anxious during this difficult period, so it's important we do all we can to look after each other and support one another's mental wellbeing.

Kindness has been flourishing during the lockdown, and we have seen amazing examples from Captain Tom walking for the NHS and to communities pulling together to help neighbours.

Join in with Mental Health Awareness week by sharing your story or pictures (with permission) of kindness using #KindnessBLMK.

Throughout Mental Health Awareness Week, the Council will be signposting to resources on their website through social media channels.
